Thank you!
“The Kids are getting it! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Livermore yesterday. My wife and I brought Grandma and the kids (23, 21, and 16). We had to drag the 16 year old, but after the show he had a completely different perspective. The kids really had a good time stomping and clapping. They are ready for the next show, as are we. Keep the Big Bands playing! We look forward to seeing you again, hopefully in Modesto,CA as well. Cheers to you and the Bands! See you soon!”
“Absolutely a great show! We loved every minute. As a Glenn Miller fan, I was hoping you wouldn’t forget “I got a gal in Kalamazoo” and “Little Brown Jug”. You didn’t. Looking forward to Miller vs James. Would love to see Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw represented, too.”
“What a fantastic show. My husband and I were raised on music from the big bands. Glenn Miller has always been my personal favorite. Can’t wait for another performance. Everyone was great. The singers and musicians. What a beautiful sound. Thanks so much for keeping this wonderful music alive!”
“Had a fabulous time at your Antioch show! We truly enjoy both bands but we definitely enjoyed the Glenn Miller tunes a bit more. We also appreciate the special tribute to our Veterans. The soloists were great and hats off to the TD middle sax/clarinetist for his quick instrument changes so many times on one of the jumpin songs. It was a great date!”
“ I loved the bands today. You guys were fun to watch. I think I should have been young in that era. But that was my mom’s time. Both bands were awesome. Loved the finale too. 🎶”
“Wow fantastic show well done everyone!!”
“What a great show! My 94 year old father loved the show.. He has told stories for years about seeing Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey in person when he went to their concerts as a teen in the 40’s. The bands were terrific — they embraced the persona of each band and we enjoyed it immensely.”
“We saw your show yesterday. Really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed your 10/28 concert in Escondido. Very glad that you had great vocalists to accompany. Only wish there was more of this genre available. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the Glenn Miller/Harry James battle.”
“Thank you so much for putting on a great show. We enjoyed the music very much and often wanted to get up and dance... but didn’t have our dancing shoes on. Let us know next time you are in the San Diego area, we’ll be there.”
“I received a flyer from El Camino College about the Battle of the Big Bands. I had no idea what to expect since it was at a local community college. I was born just as the Big Band era came to end, but listened to a lot of the music as I was growing up either on the radio or in old television movies. I took a liking to the Big Band sound and listened to it off and on as I traveled across the United States over the ensuing years. With the advent of satellite radio I picked up the Big Band sound, also known as 40’s on 4 on the Sirius Radio. So the show was a big question mark. Well let me tell you - What a Surprise. The show was fantastic, the bands tremendous and the singers (Boy Singer & Girl Singer) complemented the music fantastically. My only regret was that I did not drag along about a dozen people I know that would have enjoyed the show even more than I did.I look forward to the next time you are in town and this time, there will be a large group with me.Thank you to each and every performer, as well as the director and sponsor of the show for a fantastic performance”
“I really loved the Glenn Miller vs Tommy Dorsey battle in San Jose!!! Both bands performed a really great show!!! I especially loved the Glenn Miller band, because not only did they perform more interesting music, but did you know that I am in a brass ensemble led by one of the Glenn Miller band’s trombone players, Andrew Hill? It really is true! Andrew is an amazing director!”
“My husband and I attended the concert last night in Folsom, CA. We had such a wonderful time last night and all of the talent exhibited was just amazing! We will definitely go again the next time it is close by. Thank you.”
“LOVED the music! The drummer was a true tribute to Gene Krupa and the pianist was amazing! ALL the horns were amazing! Bill A. Jones has a lovely voice which was so enjoyable, BUT we could certainly do without the ‘lounge singer’ ‘Ted Baxter’ attitude. He’s a nice looking man, so NO need to ‘fish’.... Nancy Osborn is a lovely lady, BUT the first dress she wore was cut waaaay too low and inappropriate for a woman her age. She’s trying waaaay too hard to be ‘cute’ and it ruins it for her. We, and about six attendees around us (who we didn’t know) all agreed on these points.”
“Sat in the front row of the September 23rd Vacaville 2:00 show and loved it!!!! I should have got up and danced with the musical director when he motioned me to. I chickened out☺️”
“Thoroughly enjoyed the Battle of the Big Bands at Solvang Theatre. The music was great the weather was great. What more could you want. Let me know when the next one comes around.”
“I attended the Solvang performance tonight, Sept 17 and it was just wonderful. It didn’t matter who won, the audience was the winner either way with a magnificent performance by both bands. The hosts were wonderful and kept the pace up. I can’t wait until the next round.”
“I attended your show on Aug 26, 2017 at the Clark center in Arroyo Grande, CA. It was amazing. The musicians, and the “boy” and “girl” singer were outstanding! I’m a little younger than the majority of the audience was, but I knew all the songs and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I look forward to you being back at the Clark center in the future.”
“As a 22-year old, I had my first chance to enjoy the swinging sounds of the 1940s through this great show in Vacaville, California. This show revives and recreates the beautiful melodies only heard by the echoes phonograph and digital recordings. Battle of the Big Bands is a great way to keep an amazing era of music alive for years to come.”
“I brought my 94 year old dad to Saturday’s show in Vacaville. Although he is confined to a wheelchair and generally quiet....he was bobbing his head to the beat and clapping his hands in appreciation. It is so nice to hear the wonderful sounds of my youth once again. I don’t understand how limited the circulation is. It’s wonderful! Thx again for allowing me to share this memory with my dad!!”
“Unfortionately I will be on active duty with the military and will miss this event in October. I hope to be on your mailing list for future events.”
“Hi, Thank you for an incredible show here at the Veteran’s Home here in Yountville. I have been here 9 years and have seen most of the shows at the Lincoln Theater! Your show was right up there at the Top!! I’m a WWII Veteran and your music brought back many a memory of the Music that I grew up with. Thanks once more!!!”
“Fantastic show last night in Yountville. We’re looking forward to the next competition. Really enjoyed the emcee/male singer. Beautiful voice.”
“Most incredible! Thanks for bringing so much joy to so many folks in Yountville–all ages, and such memories!”
“Walnut Creek Show last night met all my expectations of great music!!! It was Miller time last night in the creek!!! Will not miss the next round in this battle of the great bands fight to the end. Put me on your mailing list!”
“Hot Dog! What better entertainment could you ask for! Can’t wait.”
“I am so excited about this show. Wow, 2 Big Bands onstage playing my absolutely favorite music. I will be bringing all my friends.”
